Volunteers collect donated food then weigh and record it.  They put it on display then welcome visitors and ensure that everything runs smoothly.  They also keep the fridge premises clean and tidy.

At Stromness they also operate the new refillery.

Volunteering can be good for you as well and some research has shown that by boosting your mood and empathy, volunteering can lower chronic inflammation, cholesterol and even help you lose weight.  Check out this programme to hear more.

Hours are by agreement and full training will be given.  For further details please contact one of our co-ordinators on 07739 144064 (Kirkwall) or 07508 036080 (Stromness).
